Professional Experience

I have practiced law for more than thirty-five years. I became a part of GCA Law Partners LLP in August 2011, having previously served as a partner at Miller Starr & Regalia. My legal practice encompasses both litigation and transactional aspects of real estate matters. My specialization lies in litigation and alternative dispute resolution. I assist clients in a range of real estate, construction, and transactional disputes. These include purchase and sales transactions, construction defects, broker liability, title and easement issues, commercial unlawful detainers, lease disputes, business venture dissolution, and breaches of contracts.

ADR Credentials and Achievements

My background extends deeply into alternative dispute resolution. Presently, I serve as an arbitrator and mediator, and my inclusion in the California Association of Real Estate Mediation Panel dates back to May 14, 2015. In 2021, I joined the American Arbitration Association mediation and arbitration panel for Construction, Real Estate, and Consumer matters. More recently, in 2023, I became a part of the California Court of Appeals, Sixth District, mediation panel. Over time, I've mediated in excess of 100 cases. During the COVID period, I effectively conducted all mediations via Zoom, a practice I'll continue to ensure a wider reach and efficient cost.

Empowering Negotiated Solutions

I take a hands-on approach with the parties involved, aiming for them to grasp the advantages and control that come with a negotiated resolution. This stands in contrast to the uncertainties and expenses often associated with litigation and trial. I emphasize early identification of potential barriers to resolution and strategize on overcoming them at an early stage. My approach is open, inquisitive, non-adversarial, and innovative, fostering an environment where each party feels empowered to distinguish actual needs from desired outcomes. I actively listen to parties who need to voice their concerns. The process encourages parties to share their perspectives with the mediator, and I'm dedicated to achieving a resolution in every case.
